Celebrate your love for reading with a fun bookmark!
- Paper- coloured, patterned, scrapbook, any firm paper- even a paper bag!
- Glue dots or a glue stick
- Coloured pens or markers
Step 1: After gathering supplies, draw and cut 2 paper hearts – 1 large and 1 small.
We find the easiest way to do this is to fold your paper in half, and then to draw half a heart on the fold. Then when you cut it out, you have a perfectly symmetrical heart!
Step 2: Place 3 glue dots equally across the top of the small heart (1 on the left, 1 in the middle, and 1 on the right) or draw a think line of glue across the top of the heart. Press the papers firmly to secure.
Step 3: Write your message, “I love books!” or “I <3 books!” on the small heart. Your bookmark is done! Now you can slide it onto the top or side of a page, and always find your place.
Bonus Activity: Colour your own design on paper before cutting out your hearts, or add stickers to your bookmark!
