We’re delighted to introduce a new initiative to help support caregivers practice early literacy with their children at home. There are five practices that support early literacy: talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing. Singing is one of our favourites!
Singing is a great tool for language development because it slows down the rhythm of our speech – helping children really hear the sounds of our language! It can also help introduce new concepts to your child, or to smooth your way through any rough patches in your day. Also it’s just plain fun – no matter what kind of singing voice you have!
The three songs we have for you today focus on Upper Body Movement. Stay tuned as there will be more coming soon!
